Inheritance Legal Services is officially an award winning will writing company! Since we started in 2010 we have grown year on year and developed well ahead of others in the same sector, but the one thing that has remained the same is our focus on excellent customer service and care. We don’t put on a false smile or fake politeness to the people we come into contact with, we just simply have the desire to help people coming second nature to the great team we have working for us. Plus, let’s face it, like everyone else, we want an easy life and know that only comes with doing things right.
Also since the start of the company, we had never entered any kind of awards for the way we run our business… until a few months ago. I decided it was time we started celebrating how different we are to other businesses, certainly within this sector and so entered us into the Ely Standard East Cambridgeshire business awards back in July. The application process was very intensive and dug deep within our business. In September we received a call to say that we had been selected as FINALISTS in all three of the categories we had entered- Not bad for our first time!
As part of the next stage of the awards process we had the judges of each category come to visit us within our office and interview us further about the application before making their final decision on a winner.
On Friday the 14th October the very glitzy, black tie final ceremony event was held within the grand Ely Cathedral . After meeting with other business finalists and reading about the outstanding work they do on the night, we knew it was going to be a tough night ahead.
The first award of the night was one of the categories which we were finalists in. Our Managing Director, Mark Taylor, was a finalist in the ‘Business person of the year’ award category. We waited anxiously as event host, Sue Dougan (BBC Radio Cambridgeshire) read out the details of the award. To our delight Mark was announced as the winner for his work in creating, building and sustaining Inheritance Legal Services Limited!
It was very quickly pointed out by Mark that this award was not all about him as a person, but about how the team work together to create an incredible business and he helps to bring them all together using their strengths and skills to enhance the business. Mark was applauded by the judges for his business experience and unrivalled desire to create an open, honest and fair business for our customers… Although when it came to giving a quote for the local newspaper straight after coming off stage may have caught him off guard slightly.
The other two awards which we were selected as finalists in were the ‘Outstanding Customer Service award’ and ‘Small Business of the year award’. Both of which we had to settle for the runners up prizes on the night. It is safe to say that with the amount of talented people and successful businesses throughout East Cambridgeshire, to be selected as finalists after such an intensive judging process makes us all extremely proud.
